MILK WORKSHOP

Connected to my solo exhibition at Axis gallery in Tokyo we organised a one day workshop making fresh cheese. I had invited the visitors of the exhibition to leave their comments on a wall made of blank milk cartons and blind-taste 4 different kind of milk.

Within the time of the exhibition the sterile white wall became a heap of personal messages. At the one day workshop I invited the participants to share their personal stories on a blank carton and design their own ‘cheesebag’ made from cheese cloth inspired by their personal story.

After the cheese bags were made, we cooked the milk with lemon juice, added herbs and poured the mixture into the bags. Letting them drip for a while makes the mixture dry and firm leaving a fresh cheese in your personal designed shape reflecting stories and memories of milk.
